Dr. Norfleet's Retirement Celebration

On Wednesday, November 14, 2008, we celebrated the 48 year career of Dr. Edward A. Norfleet at UNC. It was a wonderful occasion and extremely meaningful to all in attendance. The Dean of the School of Medicine presented Ed with a proclamation stating his incredible service, loyalty, and dedication to the patients of UNC Healthcare. The department presented him with a print outlining the history of Chapel Hill as well as renaming a conference room after him. His mentorship and friendship to us all will not be forgotten. Gary Park, President of UNC Hospitals presented a check to him for $5,000 to start the Norfleet Education and Advancement Fund. This is an account that can be matched by individuals and groups. It was a very special event in the history of our department. Ed's family was also in attendance.
